Owls Class Teacher

Welcome to Owls ClassÌý
Ìý
Owls is the home of Year 3 and Year 4. Mrs Clutton is our teacher and our teaching assistants are Mrs Few, and Mr Pedder. Mrs Hay teaches the class on Wednesday afternoons.
Ìý
As a team, we work hard to ensure that a happy, safe and welcoming environment is provided for the children, in which they can learn and grow positively. We encourage the children to talk to us about any problems or difficulties that they are worried about. We would be grateful if you could also encourage this from home.Ìý
If you have any concerns, please contact us via the school office or talk to us on the playgroundÌýbefore orÌýafter school.
Ìý
Snacks
Just a reminder that KS2 children do not receive snacks from school as they did in KS1. If you would like your child to have a snack at playtime please send in a healthy snack such as fruit and vegetable sticks in a named tub. Please also provide a named water bottle for your child. We are a 'healthy teeth' school and encourage the children to drink water rather than squash.
Ìý
PE
PE is on Thursdays andÌý Fridays. Please ensure that your child has PE kit in school on both days.ÌýLessons will be inside until theÌýweather gets warmer, however we still recommendÌýlong trousers and a sweatshirt. Please make sure that everything is clearly named to help lost kit get backÌýto its rightful owner!
Ìý
Ìý
Below you will find our Spring Term letter along with a topic grid outlining the children's learning this term. If you have any particular skills in any of our topic areas we would love to hear from you!
Ìý
Kind regards
The Owls team.

Reading

Reading is such a vital and core skill for all children in all areas of the curriculum. Please do encourage your children to read for 15 minutes each evening and record this in their reading record. Each week, we have a reading draw and children receive a ticket in the draw for each occasion they have read at home. Therefore, the more they read, the greater their chance of winning a fantastic prize! We have a great selection of prizes and it would be lovely to see more children winning these each week.

Spellings

Spellings are sent home each week on a Monday and I will also send them on Class Dojo. Please do help your child with learning these. Cut up the flashcards so that learning can be broken down into manageable chunks of 2 a day. This, alongside reading, really helps with children's writing skills.

Use this link to access the quiz when your child has finished an AR book. If you need your child's login details, please speak to one of the Year 3/4 team.

This is a fantastic resource for practicing times tables ahead of the year 4 Multiplication Tables Check in the summer. Your child's log in should be at the front of their reading record, or speak to one of the team.
