What is the role of the Governing Body?

Governors have an important part to play in raising school standards.Ìý Governing bodies accountable for the use of public funds, the quality of education provided and the wider contribution to the community

A school governors duties include:Ìý

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý setting the strategic direction, policies and objectives

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý approving the budget

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý reviewing progress against the budget and objectives

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý challenging and supporting senior staff

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý playing a part in appointing staff

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Provide Head teacher with support and advice
